HAGERSTOWN, Md. – September 28, 2023 – The Maryland Symphony Orchestra invites you to join us for a captivating journey into the enchanting world of music and storytelling. On Friday, September 29th at 11:30 AM, prepare to be transported to a realm of wonder at the Washington County Free Library in downtown Hagerstown.
This month, we are delighted to present the first Maryland Symphony Orchestra Storytime Program of the 2023-24 concert season. MSO Storytime is a unique event that combines the magic of live music with the timelessness of classic storytelling. Our featured story is none other than Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved tale, “The Snail and the Rosebush.” However, this event promises more than just words on a page. Be prepared to be dazzled as our very own Principal Clarinet, Beverly Butts, weaves the enchanting score of original melodies into this cherished story, creating an unforgettable sensory experience for your little ones.
This delightful program is a collaborative effort between the Maryland Symphony Orchestra and the Washington County Free Library, made possible through the generous support of the Washington County Arts Council. Geared towards children in Pre-K and Kindergarten, the Maryland Symphony Orchestra’s Storytime Program aims to ignite a lifelong passion for both storytelling and music in your young ones.
Admission is free, but we encourage you to arrive early to secure your spot, as space is limited. We anticipate an event that will fill hearts with joy and leave lasting memories for families to cherish.
