Catherine Nelson is an accomplished violinist actively teaching and playing orchestral music. Since 1987 she has been a first violin at the Maryland Symphony Orchestra and has been an active member of the Ocala Symphony Orchestra since 2006 where she has served as Concertmaster and Assistant Concertmaster. Previously, Catherine has played for the Columbus and Canton Symphony Orchestras.
When not playing on stage, Catherine teaches at String and Orchestra programs in both North Canton City Schools and Middletown City Schools. Additionally, she has served as the Shenandoah Valley Youth Orchestra Conductor for 31 yesrs in Winchester Virginia and was the adjudicator of Music in the Parks and the Festival of Middleton. In her established career, Catherine has performed with Dionne Warwick, Linda Ronstadt, Tony Bennet, among others.
